For a person no longer shown, the Sheriff request is the direct county route. Use a DOC request only for a state corrections image, and use any press image only to locate the matching official booking or court record. Each source has a limited role.
Chippewa County Roster Mugshots
The official Chippewa County In Custody list has columns for Photo, MNI, Name, Sex, Age, Booking Number, Intake Date, Charges, and Bail or Bond. It is a current population page. It is not proof that Chippewa County, Minnesota publishes an app-based photo archive. This local detail prevents a common error. Images are embedded in the current roster and served through booking-photo paths, yet no official released-photo archive is exposed. Local news and press releases may preserve a dated photo or arrest account after the live county row disappears. Their publication date is not the booking time, release time, or court disposition. Commercial archive categories may also retain images, but they can misidentify people, omit later case results, or seek payment for access or removal. Chippewa County Mugshot Expungement
Expungement generally seals covered records from public view; it does not mean the historical event never occurred or that every copy was destroyed. The jail release record answers when the custodian acted and why the person left. The court record answers what the judge ordered. A roster image answers neither question.
